Subtle, yet striking. These hardcover journals come with a smooth matte-finish, and dotted pages on cream paper. They also include a title page, an index, and numbers in the bottom corners. Sitting at 5.5" x 8.5", these journals are both compact and versatile. Take one with you everywhere you go.

Black Forest Green Skull Hardcover Dotted Journal

The vibes/aesthetic/inspiration for the Shadow Collection:

  • Dark academia

  • Whimsy

  • Simple, yet bold

  • Some of my favourite colours

  • That lives-in-a-cottage-in-the-middle-of-a-forest writer aesthetic

  • Dichotomy of life and death

About The Four New Journals

01 | Black Forest Green Skull Hardcover Dotted Journal

The Making of This Journal

Green is my favourite colour. Especially the green of the trees after it rains. I tried to capture that colour here. When designing this journal I played around with several graphics, unsure what it should be stamped with. Then it finally came to me: a skull. Somehow, it just works. That and I admire the life of the colour choice and the morbidity of the graphic.

02 | Buccaneer Burgundy Lion Hardcover Dotted Journal

The Making of This Journal

It's giving power, lust, mystery. And the lion: strength and ambition. This rich burgundy seems both cozy and warning. I love a good juxtaposition, and this journal checks all the boxes. Not a dichotomy, but a simultaneous parallel, two truths existing at the same time.

03 | Cocoa Brown Feather Hardcover Dotted Journal

The Making of This Journal

I couldn't complete this collection without a warm leather-like brown. A feather graphic seemed to be the perfect fit. Like that of an old, well-used writer's journal, leather bound with yellowing pages and beautiful calligraphy scrawled in black ink, capturing the moments around them. Romanticize your life a little with this dotted journal.

04 | Tussock Yellow Koi Fish Hardcover Dotted Journal

The Making of This Journal

I'm picky when it comes to yellows. It has to be just the right shade. The right amount of yellow without leaning towards orange. The right balance between the whites and blacks without veering into brown. Then the graphic: Koi Fish. It came to me as a complete thought, I need not consider anything else.
